Uninstalling VEGAS Movie Studio

Before starting this process, please note the following:

  • All audio and video templates and personalized settings will be deleted.
  • Your antivirus software must be turned off temporarily.

In order to uninstall the software, go to "Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features"  select Movie studio  for uninstallation. 
Make sure to delete the remaining program folders that might still be available under the following paths:

  • C:\Program\Vegas\
  • C:\Program(x86)\Vegas\
  • C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS_Movie_Studio_14
  • C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS_Movie_Studio_14_Platinum
  • C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS_Movie_Studio_15
  • C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS_Movie_Studio_15_Platinum 
  • C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS_Movie_Studio_16
  • C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS_Movie_Studio_16_Platinum 
  • C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS_Movie_Studio_17
  • C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS_Movie_Studio_17_Platinum 

Now press the keys "Win + R", type "Regedit" to open the registry-editor.  Please delete all Vegas entries from the following areas:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vegas Creative Software
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Vegas Creative Software
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\Vegas Creative Software
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Vegas Creative Software
  1. Close the Registry window.
  2. Reinstall the program.
