How to reinstall Video Pro X

Reinstalling the application will solve the problem most effectively.

  • Select "Start > Apps and Features".
  • Select "Video Pro X" and click on "Uninstall".

Please delete the program folders under the following paths:

  • C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X8
  • C:\User\Username\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X8
  • C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X9
  • C:\User\Username\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X9
  • C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X10
  • C:\User\Username\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X10
  • C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X11
  • C:\User\Username\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Video_Pro_X11

If you do not see the folders, access the control panel and select "Folder Options".
Under "Hidden files and folders --> View" simply activate the option "Show hidden files, folders and drives" .

Now you can log in to your account on www.magix.com, click on "My Products", download your software and start the installation procedure.

Reinstalling the application will solve the problem most effectively.

  • On your desktop right click on "Start" and select "Apps and Features".
  • Locate your application on the list and start deinstallation.

Please delete the program folders under the following paths:

  • C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Fastcut3\
  • C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Fastcut3\

If you do not see the folders, you must first display hidden folders.
To do this, go to "Folder Options" in the Control Panel and activate the option "Show hidden files, folders and drives" under "View" under "Hidden files and folders".

Now you can log in to your account on www.magix.com, click on "My Products", download your software and start the installation procedure.

How to change install location (Video Pro X)

  • Begin the installation process by clicking on the downloaded file.
  • Click "OK" and move on to where you can choose you language.
  • You will then be prompted with a window to "Agree and Install."
  • Here you will see an option to "Change default setting."
  • Clicking on this will bring you to a second window with more options.
  • Clicking on the option "Select target paths" will allow you to change the path to another location such as your "external drive."
  • Once you have selected "Select target paths" you will be brought to a 3rd window where you will see where to make your adjustments.
  • Please change all 3 of the options listed in the window to the same drive.

Please note, it is not recommended that the program be installed on an external drive due to the way windows will name drives.
Your external drive may be referenced as "E:/" one day and "F:/" the next. This will cause the program to not function.
