A song for the changing seasons.
Lyrics, vocals, and arrangement by Ian Michalski.
LYRICS
Welcome in the new season
welcome one and all
Welcome in the harvest-tide
welcome in the fall
Corn fields and warm feelings of joy
A carved gourd for every girl and boy
Night comes around a lot sooner these days
Filling the air with the sounds of a haunted parade
The styles have changed
The summer has gone
And everyone's wearing their haunted accoutrements
CHORUS
I have seen green like I never have seen
during lush July days
summertime dreams
but greenery gives way to soft autumn hues
and I see my world in a different view
and I smile
To see things have gone back
To the old yellow orange and black
Leaves blowing off to some haunted place
Likely with stone gargoyles
Guarding some ominous gates
A place about which many tales have been told
All about spirits and hauntings said to unfold
But gargoyles and ghosts only live for one night
Tomorrow they vanish in fear of the light
CHORUS
