Then it disappears instantly into the heavens...

Made with Sony ACID Music Studio 10.0

I created this track in ACID Music Studio 10 when it was owned by Sony (in July of 2016). I wanted to share it here as a piece created with that software, since it has been purchased by MAGIX.

In my opinion, ACID Music Studio is similar to both MAGIX's Music Maker line and Samplitude line of products, offering mostly a different interface for the same capabilities (Sample arrangement, MIDI Object creation, VSTi usage). The only difference I have seen (thus far) is that ACID products allow Beatmapping (Tempo and Beat Recognition) in Samples shorter than 15 seconds. I enjoyed using all three over the years; ACID Music Studio and Music Maker and Samplitude.

[I am not sure what to call this Genre... I 'tell a story' with various sections and themes, with a "Cinematic" sound, somewhat as a Trailer would sound like, but there is no visual of course... If anyone knows what this type of Backing-Track / Soundtrack 'style' of music is exactly, please let me know <3 ...For now, I might call it "Ambient" or "Trance" as that was my original goal, even though it has some abrupt changes in it... or perhaps "Storyscape" or "Cinematic", hmmm...]

I love you all

Hi Munenushi:

Genre, sometimes, is of little consequence.  This type of music is not easily categorized because, quite frankly, it really does not fit into an easily identifiable 'classification'.  I like your own definition best anyway, "Storyscape".  Which seems apropos enough.

To say the least, this is quite an interesting piece.  Has a "Native American" feel to it.  For one thing, the mix is very good -- especially considering the choice of instruments involved.  Could have resulted in a muddied cacophony if one is not careful.I used "Acid Pro 7" for years (still do on occasion) and have done some fairly complex work with the program.  Remains a favorite (and nostalgic) DAW of mine.

You do good work.  Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Griff

Hi Munenushi,

@THEGRIFFSTER

Thank you for your knowledgeable input and the feedback!
Perhaps for this one, I will just 'feel good' about the fact that it is not immediately categorizable...
[I started out wanting to make a Trance-like track, but was taken in by the somewhat mysterious "Native American" flow 'as it came out onto the canvas'... ]

@browj2

I created the image by using a few programs one after the other:

One was an app based on Google's Neural Network software resulting in what they call "Inceptionism" (which essentially gives a blending of overall elements of two images together), but I can't remember which one I used at the time to begin the image project, it was either Dreamscope or Deep Dream Generator, which are both sites that people have created that use the app from Google to generate image composites (for free or for a price).

It couldn't give me quite what I was looking for (those apps/sites give entirely auto-generated output), so I imported a few of the images I liked into another program; Corel's Paint Shop Pro, taking portions of it and using Photo Blend to move elements and portions around, manually editing and blending in extra elements from 1800's Samurai art to finish the style, ending with a 'postcard' border and bit of canvas texture and 'aging' done on it.

If you think others might like it or want to know how to do anything similar, I could also Upload and share these types of creations to the Photos&Graphics area, along with explanations/commentary on them...

[Does MAGIX have an Image Editing program? I mainly use PaintShopPro and the freeware GIMP at the moment.]

I'm glad you enjoyed the piece! :)

Hello, very good musical piece, very well done, at least you have a story in mind, I liked what you wrote in the description: 'One night, relaxing after a successful hunt ...
Something Approaches in the sky ...
They give chase for a time ...
Then Disappears Instantly it into the heavens ... '
I think his music is between 'ambient' and 'world music', the latter is a classification that attempts to classify all traditional or folk music, but as seen in its development also falls squarely in the ambient, greetings.

Hi!

Griff sent me this wonderful piece of music, thanks Griff! Yes, without doubt, a very nice music and I love it so much. I like native american music and in my List, I have a couple of tracks with this background. You have use the right instruments to realize this track and it goes directly to my heart and in my FAV. Fantastic journey and fantastic music and perhaps I make in next time another track with native instruments. Thank you so much for this awesome music. I hope we hear more from you in next time!

Wish you a nice weekend!

It's real easy.  First, go to the top of your "Overview" page and click on "Settings".  Second, simply check all of the options and click "Save".

That's it.  Looking to hear from you in the "Guestbook"

@Munenushi,

Too complicated for me.

Magix has Xara Photo & Graphics Designer and the full version Xara Designer Pro X (includes Xara P&G, Web Designer and Page & Layout Designer in one program). It is mostly vector based. To see more, go to Xara.com and the forum talkgraphics. There is a vibrant Xara community.

Movie Edit Pro and Video Pro X use Xara if it installed to help create overlay graphics and animations.

Bonjour,
