Variations on Canon in D

Hello all community members

I think most of you would be familiar with this classic piece by  Johann Pachelbel, a German composer from the Baroque period.

I have played it at many weddings as well as for church Preludes on the organ but I have played it as written.  Canon in D was composed using a basic melodic structure and Pachebel then elaborated on the melody using many variations.

This is a simple variation I came up with in which I have taken just part of the song and switched up the melody a bit.

Thanks for listening

Trish

PS  The cover picture is my father when he was a boy.

Yes. I'm familiar with this tune.
However, I didn't know the composer. Your playing is great again!
And your cover picture shows that you're derived from a musical family.

Ciao Trish, canzone molto conosciuta e riproposta con le tue piccole variazioni, molto bene.
Mi piace molto la copertina dove c'è tuo padre da ragazzino.

Hi Trish,

This has to be one of my favourite baroque period songs. Your version is gentle and lovingly played. Absolutely loved it! You keep to the original with subtle yet interesting variations, very well done. I can deifintely picture you playing this at a wedding, I imagine your organ version would be quite exhilarating as well.

Amazing picture!

Cheers,

Stu

Wow, this was a nice trip to the Baroque period. Now I pull down my white wig I am german, but I've never heard the name "Pachelbel" before. Ask Frantzi, he is the master of classic. You played this nice melody very well, I like it. The sound is 95% okay *****

Ah, lovely! Yes, it's a familiar piece that we hear a lot, but it's so nice to hear a new version. This doesn't sound like any other version I've heard. Gorgeously played, as always.

LOVE the photo!

Hi Trishie:

I agree with Travis ("Spritebat") below.  You add your special magic to this piece.  (Always a pleasure to listen to your inventive impressions of many of these songs).  That's what keeps me coming back for more.

Always a huge fan...

Hi Trish,

this is a very very good job of you. played and reacted soulful and very convincing.
The name of the composer tells me nothing, but the Melody sounds to me a little familiar. Since I have to look at Wikipedia once.
Thank you for this beautiful music.

Greeting Freddy

There are moments of distortion in the recording unfortunately.. Like its mixed too loud.

Which is a shame as  this classic is beautifully played. I can hear the musical soul permeate through this track.

The instrumentation is exceptional.

The picture of your father really suits the mood as well.

Of course you can not say you're not a connoisseur of music, spaces in all styles and the result is always of the highest level.
This classic song reissued tea, doing nothing but increase my respect to you.
in short, a life dedicated to music can only give these results
you are big

Hi,
I do not know the original song, but your interpretation is absolutely great, a sweet melody that takes you throughout the duration of the song, which reflected your feelings and your great love for music.
The music also reflects what we are, and you're rich person of feelings and important values, and that I respect a lot.

I´m german but I don´t really know Johann Pachelbel yet, and he composed this beautiful piece. I love it!

And you interpreted it excellent, as usual. I love the interplay of all instruments. A great work, Trish!
