Title: Take A Deep Breath
Artists: NYCGRIFF
Album: Take A Deep Breath

Hello Fellow Musicians & Music Lovers!

Here is another song from my now (famous or infamous) archives.  I have been arranging and composing songs on my computer for many years, so I have a ton of material.  some finished, but many more unfinished.  Thankfully, I 'still' have use of at least one good hand.  And, that allows me to "polish" off many of these songs.  (Hopefully soon, I will be able to create something that has not been sitting on my computer for ages)! <LOL>

In this song, there are numerous instrunments involved through the use of many MIDI/VST sequencing instruments.  Especially, the bass line [Trillian], Horns [Big Fish Audio-Soul Funk Horns 2] and guitar [Chris Heins].  If anyone here knows about this fantastic software, then you know just how sweet it can sound (if used correctly).  (Unfortunately, getting "real' musicians to accompany you on ANY session (these days) is almost impossible!  It seems that everybody is so freakin' "busy"!  That is why I have invested so much capital in buying the best VST's that I can afford.

In any event, I appreciate your 'listening' participation with any of my projects.  Remember, music is all about FUN, FUN, FUN!  So, ladies and gentlemen --  ENJOY!

Griff

Hi Griff,

Wow........what a track.  In my opinion, this is a reflection of your usual self.  Fabulous beat, and everything is so evenly balanced.  A credit to you.    So ...........the next archived song is...................?

Kind regards,

Graham.

Hi Griff,

first, thank you for your nice comment on "the bridge (vocals version)"!

This song is great, too.

Awesome use of VST. Very nice!

Great job in this piece.

Best regards

I know it's not the same as playing along with real folk, Griff, but when a person is as awesome as you are, with the understanding and ability to create and play every part themselves . . . . . .  This sounds simply superb.  It sounds like it could easily be the recording of a live session, which is what we all aim at but tend to fall short of much more than we get close.  The gorgeous lead guitar work quality in particular stands out.  The totally authentic sounding rhythm section sets the whole thing off of course - but it does all come down to your wonderful musicianship - single handed as it is for the moment.

Can't wait for -
a) the next back burner offering   -
b) when your hand is in well enough condition to allow you let rip as you want to in performance mode.
Two wondrous things to look forward to.

Top!!! Super... 5 Stars

Ok Griff...Dude...this is over the top!  Love it!!!

I also know how hard it is to get people to play or contribute to your creations.  I have caught slack from many professional A&R people about how I need to get "Real" instrumentation on my pieces.  All I can say is "Bull."  Most of my music sounds perfectly fine without real instrumentation...at least I think so.

Anyway, this groove has it going on!!!  I'm so honored to have the opportunity to listen to such awesome music from such a professional "Over The Top" musician as yourself.  Keep producing these wonderful cuts!!!

With much respect,

BC

Hi Griff,

You are the "Man"! Loved the slinky funk of this one. Everything flows so smoothly with all the "groove" in the right places.

Another Griff trip through the halls of jazz, funk and just plain old great music.

Archive or not this song fits in at any time.

Super job!

Best Regards,

Stu

as you know I went over to jazz only a few years ago and even today, I am sure of not being able to grasp nuances that then make the difference in a song.
with great sincerity that I would be able to tell and that clearly, that if one is not stupid in the music can not but recognize that the variety of music of your songs you hear clearly and that is composed of a true musician and professional.
modern jazz without doubt the highest quality
great, dear friend, I would say absolutely music quality

Hoi Griff

typically for you, my friend ..... you are presenting again a great job.

A funky-disco song quite the style of the 70s. Reminds me to the Jackson 5 .... guess it is the song "ABC" comes to mind.

You have got the groove, the feel, the essence of this slow soul funk jazzy tempo style - reminds me a bit of the music from film album SHAFT - I forget the who the singer was with his wonder soulful voice. That was then this is now. I can not comment on the technical side of your track however, the emotional side this track, the sequence of frequencies you have put together have my nureons firing all over the place.

Great job

Hello Griff,

I've actually got no song information. The well has gone lost in this swamp.

Strong number in all areas. I just like it when instruments are evenly weighted and locatable.

In addition to provide a suitable setting your impressive musical ability of the music.
This Airy teeth of the instruments with the rhythmic setting are absolutely top.

My brain need this input.

Many Thanks Griff .

Greeting Freddy

Hey Griffster

Not a bad display of your talents .  In fact, it's downright groovy, hip, cool and all those other adjectives of similar connotation.  Your natural prowess is on full display here and it looks as though everyone thus far, judging from comments, is keenly aware of it.  I'm very glad that people are recognizing what an excellent musician you are.  What is evident to me is that your music reflects not only your virtuosity but it tells us something about YOU as a person......harmonious, an independent thinker, you believe in what you do and want to share your knowledge and enthusiasm.  I know this is kind of gushy but it's what I think, so I'm putting it out here for all to see.

You're one of the good guys, Griff

I know nothing about music. Only listened .. Using technology also makes possible for me to be able to make music.

I am also into photography amateur.

I'm not here for stars score but coment with advice for improvement of my music.

at my coment on music of others, I remain honest. this must be mutual .

I give my voice just as public and not as someone who knows something from music.

I'm open to all criticism. I want to learn something

Hi Griff.   This track shows different styles magistrally melted: It is overall Rock / R&B, with some shades of funky (expecially in the bass line) and jazz (some piano and organ harmonies).

Remember me some R&B / funk music of the first 80's.

Well done

..this - for sure - does not belong to your "unfinished" material...at least as far as my ears are concernded......at 3.40 or so magix samples are definitely recognizable (or maybe this is just a fantasy of mine)...but nevertheless...to my ears this is very pleasant music...although the end to me seems a bit neglected...

Hi Griff,
I had received an invitation and I had commented on the song, but I'm very happy to listen to your work, and to comment on it again.
Sound very addictive and airy, I really like the bass and piano passages.
You deserve a big applause again my friend.

This piece of music really sounds like something sitting on your computer for quite some time...

...it somehow has a 70's feel to it.
