To the Magix community,

When times are 'blue', we sing the blues, yet a blues song tends to give us a hopeful outlook on life in the light of it all. This is one of my blues instrumentals that I created and performed in 2022. I decided to use an excellent set of samples of a trumpet, and Moog Voyager synthesizer samples. I created and performed the synth backing for the solo trumpet that I performed for this song. To me the closest way to express the feelings that I had to the expression of singing was the use of a trumpet. Even though the Moog Voyager was a mono-synth, a multitude of voices were performed as a polysyntheses by midi-control of several Moog Voyagers together to produce a very 'fat' and rich sound with much emphasis and expression. The trumpet setup allowed me to perform the brass sound with deep expression as would a vocal expression.

Now using Magix Movie Studio 2025 I added a visual expression to the music that helps create the moods of this song.

The cover-art was my own digital artwork and throughout the timeline I used excellent digital art that was made available for me to produce this video. My thanks to the digital artists who shared the artwork that completes visually the moods and feel of this song ;)

Peace In Blues (p) Mark Kostora 2022 - Remastered for Magix 2025

I hope you enjoy this piece, and feel the blues in brass. Enjoy!

My best to all of you ;)

Mark ;)

un morceau envoutant, très beau solo de trompette, qui repose sur le tapis sombre et soyeux du moog! une musique de rêve!!!

Hi Mark, great presentation of the images, love the trumpet, terrific music, but it's not blues, it's more of a military piece or soundtrack. It has that sad vibe like the music to a lost brave soldier. Cheers 🙂👍🍺🍺🍺

@PATIENT-X

Hello Stephen,

Thank you for your good comments. Well this is not that I am going to New Orleans kind of blues, but my own way and expression of the blues. I have lived in many ways in life. One of those ways was some years in the military. I learned in the military that life will always be challenge. Believe in who and what you call your home and care for and bring peace with you in any conflict. You may have noticed that the imagery and mood mostly represents a mindset of peace and determination ;)

My best ...

Hello Henri,

Thank you for your wonderful comment. Yes many of my songs carry that 'moog sound'. I played the trumpet at the keyboard but had samples that had a very well expressed mood and sound. My keyboard has a way of knowing how I feel and want to express myself ;)

My best ...

Mark ;)

Bonjour Henri,

Cordialement…

Mark ;)

@Vio-Project

Thank you very much Sylvio, I don't know what a perfect blues would be but do wish that it perfectly comes from the heart and soul. When I created and performed the piece and now brought in images the heart and soul was the feel that I was expressing ;)

They say everybody can play the blues! Most of us have had a few bumps along the way in this life haha. Interesting to hear synth blues, although I realize you picked the trumpet to do the main lifting. I think you convey the feeling of sadness and melancholy well. The pictures were well chosen. Lots of blue colour, I noticed. Not sure where the lion fits though but that's ok. Perhaps some reference I don't know. The fellow playing taps was thought provoking. Many people killed in fighting, sad to say. I think it ended on a hopeful note, which is a frequently used blues technique. Of course, my emotions may be backwards from most people! A very enjoyable track.

Best wishes,

Philip-J

@Philip-J

Hello Philip,

As often, you give much effort in understanding the music of your fellow artists and I really appreciate that! I will give you a quote from a good friend of mine that was said a few years ago about my 'Peace In Blues' song.

"This piece is not Blue as in sad, more happy and restful, I'd say.. and there is little of the standard 12 bar blues here, but still I think you are right to say this is semi-classical blues - I don't know how, but it feels right! Wonderful music, thank you for inviting the world to see your world"

What does my style of blues do that is not the norm or the common? Perhaps it is the idea that my blues is a two-way expression. That we all have our desires and pains. Yet in sharing our blues in this way it has an encouraging and lifting influence to others. You see in my imagery a determination to connect recognize the feelings of each other ... a contemplation, a meditation, a connection. The lion and the man connect, they share their feelings equally with each other. I am very introverted myself but I see others from within, as my cover-art has shown another world within my world. ;)

My best to you Philip!

Mark ;)
