Digeridoos, rainsticks, and synthesizers oh my! This video is a rest between journeys but is an adventure in itself. In my creation and performance of this piece I imagined ancient musical instruments and the very origins of music. A well know synthesizer pioneer in the North American southwest, Steve Roach had brought the digeridoo from the Australian ancient musical culture to our own land. I have had some occasions to meet Steve Roach who had encouraged me in my music. Here I will feature the didgeridoo as part of my sound. Though I have never quite mastered the digeridoo sometimes my attempts are a bit comical, but a worthy attempt ;). We will take a restful look at the ancient paths journeyed, the aboriginal dreamtime, and other ancient journeys with animals of the wild resting along the way. And as Steve Roach has pioneered the synthesizer I will then feature the synthesizer of modern times and towards the end of the video I will take us on a quick tour of my own home studio where the sounds of my dreams are made ;). In a later video I will feature the rainstick and more of the encouragement that Steve Roach has given me.
I thank all the digital image artists who have made their works available to me for this video.
