I wanted to do something different so this is it. "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was written primarily by John Lennon but has been credited to Lennon-McCartney.  It was on the album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" compiled in 1967.

The story behind the song I thought was interesting....John Lennon said that his son, Julian's nursery school drawing he called "Lucy-in the sky with diamonds" was the inspiration.  Others noted that the first letter of the main words of the song spelled out "LSD".  The Beatles denied that accusation.

I want to thank Rino (aka Heuno) for his very cool cover that he was gracious enough to put together for me.

One more note-worthy fact about this song....The beginning  (which is repeated several times) is in 3/4 time in the key of A and the chorus changes to 4/4 time in the key of B flat, then to G.

I used :  Addictive Keys, Cakewalk, Magix electric bass and a variety of synths

Thanks for listening
Trish

Hi Trish:

This is an iconic song from an era gone too soon.  It is those very same chord changes and tempo undulations that has always given this tune its unique character.  I like that you have blended the lighter keyboard sounds with the more traditional piano sound.

Of course, your impressive interpretation and pianistic skills are, once again, on ample display.  I'm additionally pleased that your hand 'appears' well enough for you to render this delightful "blast from the past".

You're a real trooper, girl!

Hi Trish,
I think the original song is so 'famous that many have heard.
You made a very charming and passionate instrumental interpretation.
Your style and your class are unmistakable.
I think if the Beatles listened your version, it would be very pleased.
See you soon.

Hi Trish,

Great cover of this iconic song. Loved the your interpretation and also the piano voice that you chose. Being a child of the 60's, I found myself singing along to your playing. But then again, it's been my experience that when it comes to Beatle's songs everyone regardless of age seems to know the words.

Anyway, loved your cover and am very happy to hear that your hand seems to be in top form. This one goes into my Fav's for sure.

Best Regards,

Stu

PS Loved the cover, it's always nice to get a little help from your friends!

Your piano is fantastic and this piece of music also! Outstanding!

SpriteBat wrote on 5/26/2015, 7:56 PM

Excellent! This is some of your best work I've heard. It sounds professional and seamless; I can hear which piano/keyboard parts are the focus, but all the other sounds you add are what really makes it work so well. You always create compelling textures, usually without drums or vocals, but it never seems like anything is missing.

Keep it up. Oh, and sorry I never thanked you for the note on my paper. That was funny. So thanks.

cita: " A CHI CON IMPEGNO E PROFESSIONALITA???HA RAGGIUNTO AMBITI RISULTATI, PORTANDO OLTRE I CONFINI DELLA CALABRIA, IL MESSAGGIO E LA CULTURA DELLA NOSTRA TERRA ???.
Come autore Pino continua a scrivere canzoni incontrando nuovi personaggi in particolare: uno a livello internazionale, Carlo Alberto Rossi,
