Title: Fire Jam!

Album: Fire Jam!

Hi Fellow Music Lovers!

Here is a little Jazz/Funk number gleaned from my apparently bottomless music archives.

My left hand is 'still' in a rather bleak state, so I had to lay down the bass and treble parts over two separate tracks using my right.

All sounds made with a variety of  KONTAKT instruments.

Enjoy ladies & gentlemen!

Griffster,

Hey...hey...hey!!!!  This is a "Jam" to be reckoned.  Love the instrumentation, love the rhythms, just love this piece period!

The only critique I have on this is to bring your woodblock volume at 1:19 to the same volume as at 1:15...other than that, I love this piece tremendously.  This is going into my faves for sure.

As usual...Impressive!!

Utterly stunning, funktastic piece, Griff.  You make throwing these catchy riffs, phrases and instrumental anecdotes together seem like it must be so easy.  Which is simply not true of course.  It's your sheer mastery, one handed for the moment or not.  If you can't get that pesky hand sorted, we really are going to have to consider starting a Kickstarter project to get you a bionic one.  Seriously though, please do take good care of that mitt and nurse back to health if you possibly can.  We're all pulling for that.

This track bubbles along wonderfully and those Kontakt instruments sound truly authentic through my cans.  Again that's in no small part down to your understanding of not only how these bits of kit should sound, but how a human body can physically play them - and more importantly what's not possible with only two hands with the usual number of fingers per body.  To hear another from your gold mine archive so quickly after the last is an absolute boon.  Thank you for lifting my day.  Totally inspirational.

This track really is on fire...

I like the energy the music holds... can almost visualize those "freaked out" (musically of course) band members really having fun playing it...

A fun track indeed... nothing more to say.

Hey Grrrriffster

Usually I forget to click on the stars up there unless I am truly impressed by what I'm hearing, which I am, so I did (click the stars...)   This reminds me of my college days listening to my albums, drinking some wine (or whatever) listening to Ramsey Lewis (Sun Goddess), McCoy Tyner, David Sanborn, Gato Barbiero, George Benson's "Breezin'", to name a few.  I put you and your tune up there with the best of 'em and I'm not just blownin' smoke!

You are one to admire, Griff and it's sure great to have you back to show us how it's done, buddy!

I'm not here for stars score but coment with advice for improvement of my music.

at my coment on music of others, I remain honest. this must be mutual .

Thats cool man, real cool. The sounds from that KONTAKT are awesome, and your keyboard skills (even single handed) are the icing on top.  love the guitar, sounds so real. Good to see you back mate.

Smooth, sumptuios, inviting.

Wow, you made this by yourself? As well as the other track posted on your profile?

There must be like 5 instruments in this one piece, wow!

I am so sorry to hear that you have an injured hand, considering you managed to produce a clean professional sound, my word...

When you recover 100%, this community better watch its ears for the next hot track comin right outta Griffster!

Hi Griff,

Yet another of your masterpieces.  A very well constructed piece, which makes for a pleasant listen.  It portrays a night club atmosphere. (in my opinion)

I hope that left hand heals soon.  With that in mind, you have done very well.  Just goes to show what can be done if you try.

Regards,

Graham.

stuallan wrote on 11/12/2015, 11:38 AM

Hi Griff,

Stellar! You are definitely "on fire"! Simply oustanding groove from the funkmeister. The openning guitar hook sets the pace nicely and just when you get into that groove you throw another hook at us to get lost in.

Great stuff from the one handed wonder!

Hope your leftie gets back into shape soon.

Great to hear your music back in the community.

Super work.

Best Regards,

Stu

Excellent, professional sound. I could've sworn some of those solos were played by the actual instruments as opposed to on keyboards. Really impressive! And I love the beats. They always stay interesting and provide the perfect accompaniment along with the nice bass. Keep up the great work.
