Hello, everyone. I hope you all are having, or had, a great Easter.
This is just a short symphonic piece I've been working on. A few months ago I had the idea to try a wind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and french horn). So this is what I have so far. I will be adding more parts in the future, but I don't know yet how many there will be, or when the next part will be finished.
Anyway, the title refers to a type of large hawk with a red/brown color. There isn't much of a meaning or a story told by the composition; I guess it just has a flying or gliding sort of sound. Maybe this is due to the absence of drums or percussion. Also, I thought it sounded a bit like spring time, which is why I am uploading it now instead of composing one long piece with all the parts together.
Thanks for listening and sharing honest opinions. God bless!
