A Cool Evening In Spain...

This piece is an ode to some of the great Spanish Jazz Flamenco guitarists and musicians of the modern era, both past and present.  Such as, Tomatito, El Periquín, El Niño Machuca, Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, Paco De Lucia, Marco Porcu, just to list a few.

I was inspired a few weeks ago when I spent some time listening to some recordings I have by these great artists.  In any event, some call it "fusion" (a mix of Jazz and Spanish Flamenco styles).  I just like the unique sound that it conveys (at least to me).  Make no mistake however, blending these two sounds together can be a very tricky proposition... <NS>

The instruments in this composition are, Flamenco guitar, sax, congas, drums, bass, keyboard (me on much of it). For the musicians 'amongst' us: key of A-minor with various tempos at 92 thru 100 BPM.

Oh, and by the way, I performed much of the keyboard material on a newly purchased Yamaha P-105 88-Note keyboard.  (Maybe not the most expensive, but the key-action is superb for these wounded and tired fingers.

Starting to collect digital keyboards like a freakin' "hoarder".  I think I need therapy... <lol.

I only can whish, that you would mix the instruments more than in the middle of sound quality,

right and left to hear the instruments in different positions.

Thanks for this tune.

As you know: I love guitars and for my opinion there still to less of them in this song and the cover with the burning guitar hurts me   awww.

Nevertheless - again you made a great work and I'm happy to read that you still enjoy to play the keyboard.

I have afford me a new guitar. Maybe I need a therapy as well.

I know nothing about music. Only listened .. Using technology also makes possible for me to be able to make music.

Sounds pretty wicked and very innovative. This is not easy music, but demands the full attention from the listener.

After a few runs I have to say: Complicated but super composed, arranged and played.

Davon gehe ich immer aus, was bei dir immer so zu hören ist –ich habe mich mittlerweile schon ganz gut daran gewöhnen können –fühle mich schon sehr heimisch –also Verlass ist immer vorhanden, bevor man nachdenkt, das hören hier sein zu lassen –das wäre weniger sinnvoll –also, es klappt immer gut und alles ist Bestens –mehr verlange ich auch nicht, als mal ausgelassen zu sein –, !!

This track is in so good quality that you've been able to leave it on cd. Heard a lot at Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin for a number of years ago, I have to listen to the cds again

Music has always been part of my life. I started making music as a hobby for a couple of years ago. I work in an aluminum production plant, hard work but I'm not complaining.

i am humbled, my friend. I mean....WOW and another WOW!  You are indeed the Jazzman.  How long did it take you to put this song together?  It is truly amazing and I would bet $$$ that your previous "flawed" tune was nothing but a mini-nothing-that-anyone-would-notice flawette! (I wonder what Google translate would make of this comment???)

I really love that sound, make me remind me the soundtracks from the movies of the 80's in New York... i personally think if that your city has to have a soundtrack should be this kind of Soul Jazz, the way you play the keys, the Sax sound, has all to do with New York, is impossible to ear this work and not thinking in that city.

But then you complete the song with some Flamenco Guitars that is a  great contrast with the rest, but is a contrast that doesn't shock you, on the opposite it completes the song, in a great way.

As i said before, if New York had to have a soundtrack should be something like that, and in this particullary case this could be the soundtrack of a neighborwood like West Harlem... i've already ear this song for severall times and i always remind me the walks at night in there, the street sounds, the people, the smells ... thank you very much for that.

I'm not going to rate this work because there isn't stars enough to rate this ... just Wonderfull!!!!

...need a psychologist...well, here i am......but, honestly...there's not much empirically validated therapy for keyboard hoarders...if you hoarded newspapers...that would be much easier to "reset"...

btw...the end of this definitely fine piece of music is not appropriate to its otherwise charms... *fav*
