I never had this problem before but when I hit space bar to play video and audio I keep getting this message (Click on File to see message). Do anyone know why"? I'm really getting sick of magix. second issue this week week the program.
This is a question best answered when people have a complete rundown of your system spec in your signature as asked for in the forum rules.
My guess would be not enough physical ram on the system but I don't know. The program guidelines show minimum specs for running the program but quite often that requirement is exceeded by the project needs. I have 32 GB of ram on my system and I often get close to the limit of that being used on even quite small projects. The length of a project doesn't really matter as the use of the ram seems dynamic but rather how busy the project gets in certain places. Things that can take up a lot of ram is something simple like have a web browser open running more than one tab at the same time as the program is running.
. . . . Direct Sound selected which is not the default and I believe Direct uses more RAM . . . .
DS was the default setting for MEP in previous versions and I have always used it since - it is faster and uses less CPU.
Direct sound was never the default on my installations and I remember there was one version in which it was the default and it caused so many issues with users that @ralftaro at Magix chipped in and a patch was subsequently issued that switched it back to Wave Driver.
DS used to make preview very choppy but having said that I tried switching in VPX12 and it made no difference to anything including loading in Task manager be it CPU, Ram, GPU load, etc.
