Won't download loops and instruments collections

I spent $149 on the ACID Pro music mixer. It was supposed to come with, quote "Thousands of loops and samples". It came with absolutely zero. I tried to look for help. It said to go to "Help" then to download instruments and loop collections. So I did that. I've done this process 4 times now and it only downloaded them once. When it did actually download, it saved it to the computer as an "application". In the explorer view, I can't find a single loop or instrument. This is absolutely infuriating. I used ACID for YEARS and loved it... but why won't the loops and instruments download? It's worthless to me unless they download like it was supposed to when I purchased the program

Another item that Magix screwed up. No instructions on where to find the downloaded media.

Anyway, the stuff is on your PC, you just have to go on a little hunt. I might have the path wrong but try this:

C:/Users/Public/Public Documents/Magix/Common/

See if the "thousands upon millions upon billions loops and packs" are in there. If so, just copy the folders with loops and sounds, and move to a folder where you can easily access while using Acid. Leave the FX and Synths alone. Don't move those.

Good Luck. I hope you make better music than me. I suck!

Hi

. . . . . When it did actually download, it saved it to the computer as an "application" . . . .

Many Magix programs download a Download Manager to actually install the extras - the filename may include 'dlm'.

Did you try running the it?

I did find them in the folder... but they are labeled as applications. If I double click to access the application, it starts a download. Then it says, these files already exist on your computer, do you want to replace or modify? So that doesn't help. Then I tried to extract the file folders from the application, which was successful. I copied them to my MAGIX downloads file in the ACID explorer. When I select the instrument or loop folder, its empty. I just don't know what to do and MAGIX makes it impossible to get help

I'm going to guess you clicked on the first file shown on your screenshot. That is the Magix Download Manager for Acid Pro.

Look carefully at the other files whose names begin "ACID_Pro" or "ACIDloops"; notice they are all .exe (= executable = installable) files. Those are the ones you need to double-click on, one by one, to "execute" the installation of the samples, instruments, loops etc.

The final two files on the list are the installers for the Celemony Melodyne plugin and the Update Notifier for Acid. Whether or not you wish to install them is entirely up to you.

Simply "extracting" the files, as you did, is NOT the same as installing them. Indeed I would strongly suggest that you delete those extracted files (and only those extracted files) from wherever wherever you extracted them to, otherwise the correct installation process may throw a wobbly!

Hi

They look like the downloaded executable files for installing the extras, I would suggest you make a backup copy of them somewhere for future use if you need to re-install the program.

The download manager should have started the installation of these automatically, so something stopped it from doing this possibly your AV blocked the install or the install was cancelled at some point.

If you have not done so run each installer individually, the extras will be installed in the correct location fro the program.
