I have video saver 3,0 Windows 7. Where do I get a program a program that removes wind and other noises from my film? I have heard of Mastering Suite but I cant find it.
Wind noise and disturbing noises are very difficult to get rid of once the have been recorded because of their random nature.
At best you may be able to reduce them by extracting the audio and using an external audio editing software to reduce the levels to something more acceptable, getting rid of wind pops is difficult.
If the audio does not include speech ie is natural noise eg woodland, parkland, traffic, birds/animals etc then I would replace the audio with better background sound - for nature type sounds I use Atmosphere Deluxe to generate the audio, for others I blend various sound loops to achieve a more natural sound.
For future use I would recommend the use of a windshield and/or a 'Fuzzy Cat' on your cameras microphone(s)
I use a 'Fuzzy Cat' windscreen, see pictures, on my cameras microphones, this helps reduce wind noise to low levels except on very windy days. This particular one is a Windcutter (www.thewindcutter.com) and I highly recommend them
I don't agree with johnbaker. Wind, camera hum, and most annoying noise sources can easily be removed from complete audio tracks with a free product called "Audacity". I am actually in the process of creating a tutorail to demonstrate exactly how this is done. It should be up in a week or two. Basically you need to find 1 or 2 seconds of the noise where there no other desired audio happening (usually not that hard), sample a small portion of the noise, then select the entire audio track and run the "de-noise" effect. I have done this hundreds of times.
I was just thinking, if you only have the one project and it is on YouTube, send me the link to it, and I will get rid of as much of the noise as possible, put it back up on my YouTube account where you can download it and do whatever you want with it. If the file is small (less than 8-10 MB) you can just email it to me. Let me know if you are interested and good luck.
