Will the latest version work with Windows 7 64? I do a video very few and not often, and wonder if I should upgrade from the Video Pro X version 8 dating back to 2016. I do have used the Movie Maker in the past as well. Thank you for any advice.
Windows 7 is not supported either by Magix or Microsoft - you need Windows 8.1 as a minimum, however would be better off with Windows 10.
Does your computer meet the specification requirements?
Do note that the minimum requirements are literally that - the minimum for the program to run on - for complex editing and using 2.7K or greater resolution video you need a computer that exceeds the minimum spec by a large margin.
To get the best out of the program using Hardware Acceleration for reducing export times for h.264/AVC (MP4 and AVCHD) video formats, an Intel processor with an appropriate integrated GPU is required. Nvidia and AMD GPUs are not supported currently for exporting of these formats.
HEVC video export can use a Nvidia graphics card that supports NVENC.
If in doubt post your computer specs - see this topic for details of what is required.
