Will reloading the program fix my problems?

Katie wrote on 10/9/2020, 8:32 PM

I am having trouble running my movie edit pro. every time I open it I get a "igdrcl64.dll" error. not sure how to fix it. all my graphic cards are up to date. was wondering if I uninstall this program and then reinstall it will it work again without the error. and can I even reinstall it. I still have the code to download it. will it allow more than one download?

Hi Katie.

This seems to be the same error you asked about in your last thread.

I have noticed you have put some of your computer specs into your signature as John requested you should do.

That helps a bit but is also a bit confusing.

Are you using a Dell XPS 15 Laptop?

Does it have an nvidia GTX 1650 or Ti variant of the 4GB graphics card?

If you remember John said it could be a graphics driver problem. In this instance it could be the nvidia graphics or Intel drivers looking at your specs but hard to tell and both drivers if correctly reported look out of date.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the program will not help if you don't completely get rid of all traces of the old program which uninstalling on its own won't do.

John EB when he gets back on may be able to point you in the right direction on how to go about that if it needs doing.

There are a few more things John may need to know at this point.

The laptop should be able to cope spec wise but are you using more than one hard drive or is everything on the laptop internal drive? If you only have an internal drive you could be running out of enough free space causing the memory problem.

How much free space is on your C: drive?

How have you checked all your drivers and not just the graphics drivers are up to date?

How did you do that?

If using an external drive as well, how much free space is on that drive?

Is this your laptop?

Ray.

[Edit] To answer your other question. You can download the program as many times as you like for as long as you keep an account at MAGIX.

Hi

The numbers quoted in your signature appear to be graphics driver versions and are not up to date compared to the ones available from Intel and Nvidia's site ie. the first one (Intel) 26.20.100.8142 is currently 27.20.100.8681 and the latest Nvidia is 27.21.14.5638. Are they the latest showing on the Dell website for your machine?

You need to be a bit careful about using the generic drivers from Intel and Nvidia's site because often manufacturers like Dell customise the drivers to their hardware so ones from the GPU manufacturer can cause problems, however often the drivers are older from Dell, etc. just because they have not bothered to update them so you could try them regardless after setting a restore point and hopefully you could get back from there if need be.

System Specs: Intel 6th Gen i7 6700K 4Ghz O.C.4.6GHz, Asus Z170 Pro Gaming MoBo, 16GB DDR4 2133Mhz RAM, Samsung 850 EVO 512GB SSD system disc WD Black 4TB HDD Video Storage, Nvidia GTX1060 OC 6GB, Win10 Pro 2004, MEP2016, 2022 (V21.0.1.92) Premium and prior, VPX7, VPX12 (V18.0.1.85). @Scenestealer

Hi Peter.

Did you visit the Dell driver support page?

The laptop was sold as a Windows 10 loaded laptop.

Hi

Please do not start a new topic on the same issue - I have closed your previous post to avoid splitting responses.

. . . .igdrcl64.dll . . .

This DLL is an Intel OpenCL driver and the issue you are having is similar to another users with a different dll, however the cause may be the same.

Assuming you can get past the error message and the program loads, then try resetting the program to its default settings - File, Settings, Reset program to defaults

If you cannot get into the program, using Windows File Explorer browse to the following location:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Videodeluxeversion

and delete the videodeluxe.ini file, then try starting MEP.

. . . . was wondering if I uninstall this program and then reinstall it will it work again without the error . . . .

This is a last resort option.
