Will not playback, cursor moves a short distance then stops

Has anyone found that sometimes it is impossible to get music studio to play. The cursor moves a short distance then stops. This makes the program unusable. Sometimes a whole reboot of the computer solves it, sometimes not.

What did you select as your audio output device in the settings of this track?

My digital keyboard connected via USB and sending MIDI.

Although strangely it has started working again now, I went into playback options and noticed that the global playback device had changed to my computers internal soundcard. I changed the global playback device to my UR242 audio interface.

So I do think it is maybe something to do with the audio output device (although I was using MIDI at the time) and the drivers that it is set to? I'm still puzzled. I've had this problem before but never been able /had the time to look in to it.

Do you have any more advice suggestions about it?

I have this problem when the audio device is blocked for example. Sometime its driver crashes and then nothing happens. Just the small jump of the playback cursor and then it stops. A restart often helps or switching back and forth with another device..

Thanks, yes I will try switching to another audio driver and back again if the problem happens again.
