Why this puzzling behaviour?

terrypin wrote on 2/22/2013, 8:41 AM

The illustration below (a simplified example) is hopefully self explanatory. I cannot understand why after rendering to MP4 the red arrow is not fully displayed.

Or for better quality: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4019461/MEP-LayerConflict.jpg

Here also is the arrow file: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4019461/RedArrow1.jpg

Edit: It seems related to the large size of that file. If I reduce it externally to 1280x720 then it exports OK. But in both cases it was resized in MEP to about 10%. And the arrow clearly doesn't overlap the text, so I can't spot the cause.

Hi Terry

I can replicate this.

1.    If I place the arrow image on the timeline before the background object, the arrow gets 'sectioned' as you have posted.

2.    If I place the arrow image on the timeline after the background object, the arrow is dispalyed correctly.

Case 1 can be corrected by clicking on Section/zoom then back to Size/Position - while in section/zoom mine showed the image as 1600 * 900 which is correct - without making any changes in Section/zoom.

Can you replicate this?

John.

Hi John,

Well spotted! Yes, I can replicate all of that.

I've no idea why, but just pleased to learn of your neat work around.

Hi Terry

Don't know about well spotted - it was a serendipity moment - I did not like the background movie I used so I swapped it for another and bingo!  I got the same problem
