Why is my Music Maker 15 shutting itself down???

I recently began working on a song recorded from guitar (in music maker 15). Everything was going fairly smoothly until i made about 2 min. worth or progress into my song. At this point i wanted to go back to the beginning and make some edits, the problem is that when i drag the red playback marker back a certain distance, the program stops responding and shuts itself down...

A popup comes up and says "Magix music maker 15 has stopped working, windows is checking for a solution to the problem.." Then after a few seconds it says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." This happens every time i open up my song and attempt to playback any part from the beginning. (playback works fine within the last 20 or 30 seconds of the song)

I also notice that the more i add to the end of my song, the more of the beginning i can't playback. The playback works fine with the demo songs which are even longer and have more clips.

Can this critical error be fixed???

If it is of use i am running on windows 7.

Hi,

The stabitlity of MMM is not very good, bad news, but with the time and some experience you could avoid some bugs.

What is the format of your record : *.wav, *.mp3?

It is difficult to know what exactly happen. Go to the directory where the wav file of your record is stored.

Close MMM. Keep the *.wav and try to delete the *.H0 and *.HDP associated files (same name).

Open MMM, they will be regenerated. I don't know if it is the fix. Sometimes it could work.

Regards.

But is MM-15 capatable with Windows 7 ???  That is the question only MAGIX can answer.

Can you play your recording in a separate audio program such as Audacity or media player - if yes then its not your recording thats at fault.

Try creating a new project and importing your recording - if that works then your original project could have been corrupted when it first crashed.
Hope that helps.

Hi,

On the French site, Magix says that all version 15 are capatable with Seven. You had to install them in compatibility mode.

Sorry it is in French in the text.

This wouldn't be the first time MAGIX has been known to stretch the truth.  Also, they're not known for correcting issues with their software or for outstanding technical support.

Sorry.
