Hi

What is your computer specification and graphics chipset used?

. . . . reinstalling windows 10. . . .

Was this originally a clean install ie your hard drive was completely wiped of all data and programs before installing, or was it an upgrade from Windows 7 or 8 ?

If an upgrade from Windows 7 or 8 was MMM 2016 installed before or after the upgrade?

Hi peteandfiete, it was the same problem for me and thousand  people who try to use mmm 2016. Like you, i used MMM 2013, 2014, 2015 before without problem. but i can't use this one correctly, (so slow). I'm on windows seven with 16 giga ram and a gtx 770 graphic card. the problem is not your computer but Magix music maker 2016 only.

They try to resolve this problem with a patch, but nothing !!!

I just ask my refund to the magix society. So good luck for this so bad version of music maker!

(sorry for my english language)!

I too have complained to Magix as have others. The most recent patch from last week is better. Try it and let us know.

It would be helpful if you could explain in detail what is slow, and then some of us can check to see if we have the same problem.

Then you have something solid to be able to raise a ticket with Magix.

Hi

@ cyrille.gorry

. . . .  and thousand  people . . . .

If there was such a large number of users reporting this problem the forum would be flooded with complaints and requesting help.

. . . . the problem is not your computer but Magix music maker 2016 only. . . .

On the contrary I suspect the issue is between MMM and NVidia cards - IIRC the members who have reported slowness are using NVidia cards.

I do not have an issue with the program using the Intel graphics chipset - see my last post in this topic

If you have an Intel i5 or i7 processor try pulling the NVidia card and use the integrated graphics to see if this makes a difference.

Hi Johnebaker, thanks for your answer.

Are you working for Magix? or just passionate for music computer like me?

You say that you supect a problem with Nvidia graphic and MMM2016, ok! Do you think that a society like magix can't imagine the number of people who use nvidia card? If it's the real problem, before to put the program on the market, they don't test it?  seriously!!!

So the problem is MMM2016 and only it! if you suspect a conflict between nvidia and MMM2016, i don't have to jump between intel graphic chipset and nvidia as everytime that i use it!

before to use MMM2016, i used music maker 16, 17, 2013, 2014, 2015 on nidia card  without problem. If they change the motor of this program, they need to make a professional work on it before to sell it!!

Hi,

Yes, this was a clean install of Windows 10. I have also no other versions of MMM on this particular computer.

My specs are:

Intel Core i7-6500u, 8GB RAM, Intel(R) HD Graphics 520

The app runs incredibly slowly - from scrolling to loading projects, it's virtually unusable!

Hi

@ cyrille.gorry

. . . . . Are you working for Magix? . . .

No - just a user with a lot of computer experience.

. . . . If they change the motor of this program, they need to make a professional work on it before to sell it! . . . .

Here you have the wrong end of the stick - it is NVidia, Intel and Microsoft who change the graphics drivers / features available to the software.  Magix and any other software manufacturer, have no control over this and have to play catchup when new drivers are released which cause issues with a program.

@ peteandfiete

Try updating the drivers for the HD 520 from the Intel site - ensure that you select the correct stable drivers and not a Beta set. I used the Intel Driver Update utility to get the correct ones for mine.

There have been issues with Windows 10 versions of the drivers causing slow downs with other programs, the downside is the next Windows 10 update may replace them automatically unless you are using the Pro version.

I don't think that: i was on MMM2015 without no problem. So , i never change my driver graphics before to buy and use MMM2016.

But it's ok for me, i just receive refund by magix and buy Presonus studio one V3 who works very fast without problem.

Good music everybody!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your responses (especially johnebaker).

I've tried everything I can think of (updating Intel graphics drivers, reinstalling Windows 10, reinstalling MMM 2016), but the program is still unusable.

As the program is so slow to do anything, from scrolling to loading songs, I will be requesting a refund.

Hi, I have had the same problem with Magix Music Maker 2016. I got so fed up, and telephoned the premium hot line, cost £10. They said my system check was ok, but many people have the same problem and an update will follow very soon, when they can get the update approved by the mangereal team.

So all we can do is wait for the update, not impressed with Magix though, my outlook has changed about the company. New Versions should be fully checked before sale, it not just about making money but keeping loyal customers.
