Why don't I hear the audio? (movie edit pro 2013)

I'm a first time user of movie edit pro 2013 plus version 12.0.0.32.

I imported the video I shot from my camera. When I select the preview audio feature, select the audio sound track (original sound that was shot with my camera) and hold down the left mouse button I hear the audio. When export the movie as an .AVI there's no sound.

I'm sure it's user error but how do I get it to play and save the sound?

Your screen shot shows track 1 in 'solo' mode, highlighted [S] icon, so I'd guess that is the only track that is going to be exported. Not sure about getting the auadio preview as things have changed with MEP 2013 which I don't have on this machine.

Carl is correct, well spotted Carl -

If you have the video/audio split over 2 tracks as shown in your image and the video track set to Solo then the audio track is muted and not exported with the video - the export dialog shown in my first answer will still say video and audio.

With the video/audio on one track then with Solo selected the audio is exported as well as the video provided the option for video and audio is selected in the export dialog.

I do not know how this is happening as I cannot reproduce this!!!
