Why Does Sound Forge 14 keep forcing me to connect to the internet?

I bought Sound Forge 14 a month ago because I couldn't get SF 8 to work on my new machine.

Since then Sound Forge has forced me to connect to the internet about 4 times.

Windows 10 is a pretty invasive OS and I don't want to hook to the internet with my studio machine anymore than I have to.

Before I keep doing that I will stop using Sound Forge and never buy another Magix product ever again..

So is there a way to stop it from happening? I've been using Sound Forge since version 4.0 in the 90s. I've always been happy with it but this is not right. Every time I hook up to the internet Windows 10 wants to do updates that always winds up messing up my machine so I refuse to let any software company force me to connect to the internet. It should not be necessary after the product has been successfully registered and authorized and that was done over a month ago.

Yes I have added other things (software & hardware) to my machine over the past month but that should not be any concern of Magix. Please stop holding my version of Sound Forge hostage!

SF should not need to be on-line constantly. Initially, it needs to authorize plug-ins and codecs, but not after that, except for the occasional build update.

Confirm that "Use Newsfeed to stay informed ..." is unchecked in "Options> Preferences> General". If "Update Notifier" was installed along with the initial SF installation, that is separate from SF and can uninstalled.
