Why does Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus ding after I install CD, it says abnormal termination see below for exact quote.

I just installed the above program into my PC using windows 7 home.This is the 3rd time Magix Movie edit Pro 17 plus, refused to start. It loads up to Initializing media pool then causes  this error message

I get that ding sound This happened after I install this program. It has never worked since my 1st install about 3 weeks ago. I have registered..

I unistalled ALL the Magix software programs 2 times, Checked the computer for viruses, Spyware and malware, found none.

reinstalled program again with anit virus off and removed my internet service,, unpacked it and ran it. It installed. then the ding sound happens again  I have intel I7-266 cpu @3.4 ghz Memory 16.0 64 bit operating system,windows 7 home.I am so frustrated.I even took 2 online classes,told him my problem and he said to contact tech support, and send out a message. Can anyone please help . thanks

Hi.

Not sure if I can fully help you but a couple of questions spring to mind: are you installing from a downloaded file or from a DVD/CD?  If you downloaded the installer I would question whether you have a corrupted file - you could try downloading again to check - and then try a reinstall.  If you have a full program CD/DVD I wonder whether it is damaged in some way?

Whichever, before you attempt another install you need to ensure that everything to do with the previous attempts is completely removed from your computer.  MAGIX themselves offer a Cleaning Tool for complete removal; it's available from the Support Section of their web site.  Alternatively, download, install and run the free Revo Uninstaller in Deep Clean mode (follow its advice/instructions carefully).

One thing in your post puzzles me: you say you have registered the program.  AFAIK that can only happen with the program successfully opened.  So, did you have the program running successfully at least once?  Your post seems to indicate you have never been able to use it.

This may help.  It is from a Microsoft Tech Support forum

"Mostly, this kinds of error can be caused by two factors:

 

1.Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries are missing.

2.Software problem.

If the issue is caused by #1, you can reinstall the Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries to resolve the problem.

If the issue still persists after installing above package, the issue should be a software problem. I suggest you take a Clean Boot check whether it is a software conflict issue. If not, it is still recommended to address the problem with manufacturer support. Thank you for your understanding."
