Why can't I export an mp3 in Music Maker 2013 premium anymore?

14LukaOi88 wrote on 2/26/2014, 5:35 PM

I have a problem. A really big one. 'Till now, I was always using music maker to make a song, but suddenly I can't. When I go to files - export, everything is gray. I tried to reset the program settings twice, but it didn't helped me too. Does someone have a solution please?

Generally speaking, it has been my experience that when some thing was working and now its not, its usually operaator failure....you have done something different, you have changaed an option or setting....you are right clicking instead of left, or vice-a-versa...usually some little, minor detail that you fail to see or choose to ignore.

Man, thanks for answering, but problem is still here. I forgat to say that red line is not moving too when I play a song. I said: "I tried to reset the program settings twice, but it didn't helped me too", so I don't think that settings are wrong. Can someone help me, please, I need to finish a song I started to work on.

Anoather option you might have, if yu registered your program, you can do a complete re-load insted a a program re-set.  Go to ControlCenter in Windows and find Magix and do a delete....it usually asks "Delete or Repair" and you can try a repair first.  When I get to big for my britches and screw Magix up, I've had to do it  few times and it has never faild me to get things bac to normal.

Just delete it and instal again if you don't have any other solution. That is what I did.

This is super outdated but when you guys deleted and reinstalled magix did you lose all of your files?

Thanks

@zach_elfrink

You have indeed resurrected an old thread and I suspect you may receive more answers if you actually start a new one.

However, when you ask about losing "all of your files" I assume you are referring to those files which contain the projects, sounds etc. you have been working on? Put simply, if a file or folder was installed by the installer of whichever program you have (and you haven't even told us what that is!) then uninstalling the program will remove that file or folder. Any files or folders which you have created after the program was installed will not be removed; the installer simply does not know such files/folders exist!

If you need to carry out a complete uninstall of a Magix program, this tutorial will guide you through the process.

It'll wipe out all instruments, loops etc. User files that you've stored (songs you've made etc) should remain untouched.

Edit: Tested, correction. Instruments from other programs (i.e. Samplitude) seem to stay intact. It did wipe out all the loops & instruments installed by the program though.

Hi

. . . .It did wipe out all the loops & instruments installed by the program though. . . .

True it will, however if you elected to leave the extras downloads in the download folder (depends on version of MMM) then they will be used to re-install the instruments etc that you had before, otherwise they have to be all downloaded again.

Regardless, the user will still lose the installed instruments and preset customizations - they will need to reinstall them regardless if the MAGIX installer has cached the downloads.

The question wasn't really if the Magix file downloader will cache downloads or not. The question was if they will lose all their files. Presumably, this would mean loops, instruments, features, presets, settings, modifications, music project files and generated music.

@dark_spartan

Hi

You will note that I was agreeing with you on the fact that soundpools and loops will be deleted on un-installing.

I was adding additional information re the 'caching' of the install files, which in the past many users have not realised was an option (depending on the version of MMM), and saves considerable time, up to a couple of hours depending on the Internet connection speed, not having to download them again - the only time they will be downloaded again is if there is a newer version or are missing from the cached files.
