I use the light skin display in Acid Pro 10, but the clips are still so dark. They're hard to see. And clicking on/highlighting them just barely lightens them. Is there any way to change this? Thanks.
Afaik, there is no way to change it. They changed the UI to dark but when they brought out the light skin they didn't change the clips to light. My eyes have adjusted to the colours but it's still difficult when you are putting envelope points in and can't see squat.
Thanks for the response. That's unfortunate. It seems like something fairly obvious that would have gotten changed along with re-introducing the lighter skin. Maybe they will introduce some sort of patch or something to fix it.
It is possible to choose custom track colours in preferences. Track colours are also used for clips. There was a bug which means these colours weren't persisting across sessions, but that has been resolved now, so make sure you're on the latest version.
Thanks for the response, Sheppo. I just upgraded to Acid Pro 10 about a week ago, so I'm assuming it's the most recent version. And I have played around with the track color settings within the Display Preferences tab, but I'm still unable to get the event clips any lighter. Could you explain specifically what settings you change in order to get the event clips lighter? Thanks!
It's settings -> preferences -> display -> Track colours. Then change each track colour from the drop down.
Little tip, on the colour picker window, select the icon above the eye dropper. this will change the sliders in to HSL (Hue, Saturation, Luminance), then simply adjust the L slider to change the brightness.
There aren't infinite choices here, there aren't in other DAWs either, to be fair. That said, by default in the dark colour mode an empty clip will always be darker (I think 50% brightness) than the colour you have chosen, with the waveform or midi notes being the colour you choose (and vice versa if the track is selected). So, the closer to full luminance the brighter the 50% brightness colour will be also.
