Why am I getting an error message: "No recording device has been found your system"?

I am running Windows 8, the system says the Terratec G1 device is operating properly, and I have the Magix software installed. I am connected to a camcorder using the svideo and audio lines.  When I try to record analog, I get the error message stating that, "no recording devices have been found in your system".

Hi,

In additon to what Pete has suggested, have you downloaded and installed the latest Terratec G1 driver for windows 8?  You can find it here

I have downloaded the driver, and my system shows the device and says it is working properly.  I have also made sure the USB is plugged into the 2.0 slot, and not the newer 3.0.

Hi,

Which driver did you download and install and have you tried the one you did not?

George

ps, I cannot even find this device on the Windows 8 Compatibility Center let alone confirm that it is compatible, even though the driver does say windows 8 on their web site.

Thank you, thank you - I had downloaded the driver, but not the software.  I had checked for updates to my version of Magix, and it said there were none.  So this one works perfectly.  Thanks again for you help guys.
