Where on my PC do I install Magix?

My C: Drive with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit is installed on a 256GB SSD.

My D: Drive, 1TB Seagate HDD is used for my media file storage.

Where should the Magix program be installed? For maxiumum performance I assume it should all go on my SSD C:-Drive. That being said, my input files are in folders on the D: Drive. After producing the final file, I would like to archive it to the D rive (to save valuable C: Drive space).

The there is a question of backups. If I split my install across the C and D drives are there any special considerations for the Magix program to keep all of the work and program files in syn across backups of the C and Drive. I will not be working on the system during the backup period. So if the backup starts with the C drive and then the D drive, it should be restoreable. That is, in case of a disaster, I can first restore the C drive and then the D drive.

Hi,

See my tutorial on Getting started in MEP.

During install, select Custom, not default. All program files will go to the C drive, and you can set the working files to be elsewhere when it asks you. Then you can fine-tune this in the Program settings.

My Magix files, not the program files, are all in folders under:

B:\Documents\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2016 Premium
