Where is the Video preview in Music Maker 2022?

Andrew-Stevens wrote on 7/12/2021, 1:24 AM

I purchased and installed Music Maker 64 Bit, Version 30.0.0.11 earlier this evening.

I'm trying to locate the video preview screen, which used to "always" be right next to the volume slider. I'm clicking all over the place looking for it, and I cannot find it anywhere. It's like it's just missing from the software.

I've always used this feature extensively in the past.

Hi

Try pressing F12 to make the video monitor appear - there is a small bug in that the timeline and menu bars disappear - click anywhere in the lower panel to get them back.

Hi John EB,

I looked through the new manual for this and couldn't find anything under Video. F12 works but, as you noted, it kills the Arranger. Clicking in the lower panel brings the Arranger back, but the video window is buried. Also, the Overview and Info tabs do nothing, so I think that this was left in to be fixed later. I see this as a major bug right now. Seeing the video without the Arranger is close to useless.

I think that we need a bug list thread to keep track as there are more bugs.

Hi John

On a single display this is an issue, if working dual screen then then all is well as the preview monitor can be undocked and moved to the second screen - interestingly the timeline panel cannot be undocked.

. . . . the Overview and Info tabs do nothing . . . .

The overview tab works for me, the Info tab stays blank and the Spectrum analyser columns do not scale to the width of the panel.

Undocking a panel requires clicking the curly arrow icon top right of the panel

To redock, drag to a place where it can be docked and a space will appear, release into the space.

Edit - I see you have started a list.

Hi John EB,

There is no curly arrow icon top right of any panel on my screen in MMM2022. Simply drag the tab title and drag it. To redock moving the window into place turns the background of the space bluish, drop.

I wanted to install MMM2022 onto my desktop where I have 2 monitors, but I have no wifi in the desktop, no long cable to get from the router to my new office, and tethering with my cell phone no longer works for some reason - it says no internet. On top of that, WiFi on my Surface Pro 4 has also stopped working, as has tethering. I have it plugged into the router in the guest bedroom. Grrr.

Thanks John!

F12 did not work, but I just installed the latest patch and once the software came back up, the video button was there. So, the problem is solved! :-)
