Where is the Catooh Bonus Pack for Movie Edit Pro 2015 Premium?

steve4cello wrote on 9/13/2014, 4:49 PM

Just installed MEP 2015 Premium. Wanting to find & install Catooh Bonus Pack as it came with a serial number for that. Searching Catooh Website it's not possible to find such a bonus pack. Don't seem to remember having a problem previously with this (I have 2 previous versions of MEP,  & both times in the past found the bonus pack easily).

So is there a link from which we can obtain it? Or how do I search for it? Or does it not exist yet?

Thanks!

Hi,

Did you install all of the extras first?

Was there no link in the email? Did they say how to get it?

Anything under Help, Free download or something?

Yes I installed all the extras first.

The installation disc actually had a link to the Catooh website but no link to the actual bonus pack . Getting to the Catooh website was easy. I've been there before and have an account already, and with previous installations of MEP had no trouble finding the relevant bonus packs. But this time... I can't find the MEP Premium 2015 Bonus Pack by searching anywhere on the Catooh website.

No there's nothing under Help, Free download or something.

I wonder if Magix haven't yet posted it on the Catooh website, as MEP 2015 Premium has only just been released, I think. If not... where is it? i have a serial number for the bonus pack, but no bonus pack to install!

Hi Steve,

I'm curious as I'm still contemplating purchasing this, but only for the plugins. What is supposed to be in the bonus pack? Is it Video & Slideshow Sound Archive 8?

I have no idea! It doesn't say...  in fact I'm wondering if there's no such thing & if perhaps the serial number merely entitles to a discount on something, it's not entirely clear.

Regarding whether to purchase the whole bundle - I wouldn't let this issue with the Catooh pack (or non-pack) influence your choice. So far I'm enjoying using it generally, & it is a bit smoother & easier than the 2014 version. Early days yet though & I haven't had time to try out the Red Giant plug-ins, though they did seem to install very easily!

So is there anyone out there who bought the MEP 2015 Premium version and who has been able to find & install the Catooh bonus pack? Or who otherwise knows what that Catooh serial number we've been given is actually for?

Thanks

Greetings

I wondered what the Catooh code was for as well.

Somewhere in the "bumpf" that I've read (I can't remember where at the moment), I read that it is a discount code for a purchase at Catooh - I seem to recall £14.99 (UK) or £15.99. Either way I decided to wait until there was something I wanted.

Hope this helps

ps - I upgraded from 2013 to 2015 and there is indeed a significant change in the program. I don't know about 2014 to 2015 differences.

EDIT - just remembered. It says on the installtion disk. Hover your cursor over the "Catooh Free Bonus Pack" on the opening window and it's explained on the right hand side. Wish I hadn't looked now. It's for $15 NOT £15. ****

Hi Andy, yes it crossed my mind that it might be just a credit note, but if that; the case why does it say on the installation disc "Catooh Free Bonus Pack" -? That's the exact wording 'cos I just checked it. Clicking on that just takes you to the Catooh website where no bonus pack can be found. If it's merely a credit note for $15 Magix shouldn't describe it as a free bonus pack, because with the previous 2 releases of MEP there was indeed a free bonus pack redeemable with a coupon code & if i remember rightly there was a monetary value ascribed to it - so this is exactly the same procedure as before but there's no pack. It's therefore misleading. Not a deal breaker of course, the sottware seems well worth it as it is, just a bit annoying.

me_again wrote on 9/15/2014, 8:19 AM

Greetings Steve,

I see what you're driving at. Previous MEP's have indeed had free bonus packs. The last "Bonus Pack" I had (with MEP2013), the disk menu told me it was "70 additional songs plus sounds and video effects" (the email invoice said the pack was $19.99 so in fact the Bonus Pack is now less value than it was 2 years ago) BUT I had no choice as to what I could have as my Bonus Pack - I had to take it or leave it.

Now it seems I do have a choice as to what I can spend it on. I can buy something outright for $15 or I can buy an expensive template pack or music pack or whatever and put the $15 credit towards it.

Bearing in mind the "Catooh Free Bonus Pack" is from Catooh, hasn't cost anything and comes as a bonus (tenuous I know - sorry but I needed it for my point) then I can't consider it misleading. Annoying yes!! $19.99 in 2013 and only $15.00 in 2015. Now that could be a deal breaker

Here's an update + a new observation.

Magix Support say "There is no dedicated bonus content pack for the release this time. It's a general Catooh coupon code that you get and can use on any (MAGIX) content on Catooh."

So that's all sorted then.

However I've noticed that on the installation disc it says the credit is for $15 (as mentioned by Andy), but in the pdf manual that you can access from the Help Menu, on page 4 it says "Redeem your coupon at www.catooh.de http://www.catooh.com/?l=de_DE_catooh and select $35 worth of MAGIX content."

Two things: 1). That's $35 not $15....... 2). the link is actually to the German language website, despite the manual being the English Language one. Suggests to me poor proof reading. Hope more attention to detail went into the actual software.

I've emailed Magix Support to ask whether it's $15 or $35.

Andy, $35 would be worth even more than £19.99!

Greetings Steve

I've not looked through the pdf manual if truth be known, but following your revelation I had a look at page 4. At the top of the page is the answer, I feel, to the querry of $15 vs $35.

Quote:- "If you received MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2015 as part of the Video 360 bundle, in addition to the other software components you also have access to a range of extra services:" Following that, as you say, is the Catooh $35 bit.

Magix Video 360 Bundle seems to be a German only bundle that it appears you use rent/buy under a 3 year licence if I've read it correctly. Look at http://www.magix.com/de/video-360/premium/ (in German) or https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.magix.com%2Fde%2Fvideo-360%2Fpremium%2F&edit-text= (Google Tramslation)

Looks like we're stuck with our $15

I too have not been able to find this illusive "free bonus pack". How does 'one' redeem this coupon?

Yes, I purchased Magic 2015.

Yes, I installed all the warra warra's.

Yes, I tried the serial number and Magix discount coupon code all to no avail.

The PDF on Catooh is inclined to stall IE 11...
