I don't have MM-16, but I'm sure the differences between it and MM-15 are slight.

I think one of us is confused.  Well....actually I think we both are.

*.tak files and MIDI files are two different things  And if MM-16 is anything like MM-15 (andf I think it is) there are no MIDI "samples" except the default sample in the Vita MIDI Editor.  I could be mistaken.  BTW..the file extention for a MIDI file is ".mid".
.
TAK files (actually short for "take") is simply a standard wav/ogg file that's been altered with effects and then saved as a separate "take" (.tak).
You can actually modify samples and save them as your own custom "take" (.tak).

I REALLY wish MAGIX would make all of their product manuals available to everyone on their website.   But....that makes too much sense!

Ok. Let me re-phrase this.  Where are the MIDI samples in Basic_16?

I'm sorry to say....re-phrasiing the question does not change the answer.

Nowhere in their promotional material do they mention "MIDI samples"...only new MIDI instruments.

Since we do not have access to the manual for MM-16, you'll have to tell us exactly what your manual says that leads you to believe there are MIDI samples.
