@alex-compton You get your new code from Steinberg. Have you already registered version 7 with Steinberg?

alex-compton wrote on 6/28/2021, 7:26 AM

Hi, thanks for your reply, yes I believe it's registered. I guess I should try to get into contact with them.

Thanks again, Alex.

@alex-compton There is some talk about this in the Samplitude forum and the users there said that it took several weeks in the last year to get the upgrade code. So I think you have to wait a little bit.

alex-compton wrote on 6/28/2021, 7:52 AM

Damn :-)

Hi Magix,

It's now been 2 weeks since SL pro 8 has been released.

Steinberg sent you guys the activation codes on the June the 30th I've learnt, so in a whole week you couldn't find a moment to send us an email ?? What's wrong with you guys ?

How long exactly are we expected to wait for software I've paid for ?

@alex-compton

These are user to user forums so not a contact for any Magix staff, sorry. No-one here can answer your question.

Hi Jeff, Since you are a forum moderator perhaps you could forward this problem to Magix. For me, they have 24 hours to send the code I paid for. Then I am simply taking my money back via chargeback.

@Stephen-Winkelman

Moderators are fellow-users, not Magix staff, so there is really no-one to whom I can forward this, sorry!

My only suggestion is that you email infoservice@magix.net and ask them about these missing codes.

How about you forward it? Support is useless.

@Stephen-Winkelman

Cool it!

Your thread was closed because it was a duplicate of this thread and you were told about it.

Magix will issue the SN's for Spectralayers once they receive them from Steinberg, not before, which should be obvious. As well, the last time there was an offer like this, the first issue of the upgraded program from Steinberg was full of bugs and it took a while before they were sorted out. Do you want a buggy version so that you can complain even more?

No John. What I want is the software I paid for or further information about it’s delivery or further delay. Listen to yourself. I shouldn’t care about delivery because the software is “probably buggy”? do you mean like x3, x4, x5?

I bought the suite because it was advertised that Spectralayers 8 would be available upon release. It’s been two weeks. Support has offered no further info. I’d like one or the other… apparently that is too much to ask.

I really love Samplitude but Magix is a convoluted mess of a company. And they will do anything to make a sale no matter how long it takes to make good on promises.

SP. wrote on 7/6/2021, 7:13 PM

@Stephen-Winkelman Last year it also took about three or four weeks after the release of SpectraLayers 7 until the serials were sent out. If you want it now you can upgrade directly from Steinberg or else wait a little bit more. This shouldn't be an issue because you already can use version 7.

Stephen-Winkelman wrote on 7/6/2021, 7:22 PM

I get it. It is much too much to ask for… I can not expect the product I paid for or a general eta or update from support. I do not deserve it. “v8 upon release” was just a shifty marketing ploy. It worked. That is why I bought the suite 👏

@Stephen-Winkelman Have you already contacted proservice@magix.net ?

Stephen-Winkelman wrote on 7/6/2021, 8:34 PM

“proservice” right okay

I’m sure that will work

@browj2

That's a tad patronizing.

Also as I said before, Magix was given the codes on the 30th of June.

Any way, not getting anywhere with Magix, I sent in the cancellation form, spent 95 $ bucks at the Steinberg shop, and was up and running in about 5 minutes.

I had to do this as Magix couldn't give me a clear answer regarding when I would receive my codes, only repeatedly saying "in a few days" .

Cheers Al.

This is the response I got from support. The only response I have received from my “ticket”…

This is sad.
