When using Samplitude, it seems to disable sound on everything else

I've noticed that when I am using Samplitude, if I try and play a Youtube video or any other media file in a media player, there is no sound on them. The only sound I get is from Samplitude. Does Samplitude disable sound on everything else outside of it while it's being used? There's a few songs I'm making backing tracks for and I need to be able to listen to them while I use Samplitude, oh well, I'll just have to use another computer to listen to them I guess.

@Neil-Kendall

Assuming you are using an ASIO audio driver with Samplitude, then what you are experiencing is one of the very few downsides of that audio driver model; you cannot access audio in multiple apps simultaneously. By format definition, ASIO is limited to ONE audio source.
