when opening program - static background

PaulaTB wrote on 11/29/2023, 6:42 AM

Just uploaded a new version of Sound Forge Audio Studio 17-- have used an older version in past. When opening my music there is a background static that does not allow me to hear the music clearly. Any reason for this? Am I doing something wrong? Any advice is appreciated.

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @PaulaTB.
This may be the 'Magix Low Latency 2016 driver.' issue. Other users have also described it as static or a screeching sound. It may also affect other programs on a PC that have audio capabilities.
Uninstalling the Low Latency ASIO driver can fix it. To remove the Low Latency ASIO driver, open the registry editor:
- Access the "Run" command (Windows key +R)
- Type "regedit" and click  "Enter".
- Find the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > ASIO > Magix Low Latency 2016" entry.
- Click the Magix Low Latency 2016 folder and delete it,
- Click OK and restart the PC.

FYI, Sound Forge Pro does not install the Low Latency 2016 driver.
