When is the Magix Music Maker Jam fix coming for Magix Music Maker Premium 2015

Luuta wrote on 8/21/2015, 10:56 AM

I was informed that after MMJ changed the file format for the exports, Premium needed to be updated to allow the tracks to be imported once again.

It's been a month or more and I'm still waiting.

I was attracted to MMJ and MMM precisely for this ability to export projects from the android app and import them into MMM, but haven't been able to do so now for some time. I have a half dozen projects lined up that I cannot finish in MMJ, and I'm getting fed up. This was a major selling point of MMM and it's hardly been a year before it's been broken. It's still being sold as compatible, too. I'm not a happy customer :-(

Hi

. . . . I was informed that after MMJ changed the file format for the exports, Premium needed to be updated to allow the tracks to be imported once again. . . .

I can see no previous question from yourself on this topic - where did you get this information from?

I have just tested MMMJ file import and there is no issue with MMM 2015 having to be upgraded.

Did you follow this procedure for importing MMMJ projects:-

  1. Save the project on the Android phone.

  2. From the start menu of MMJAM on the phone, select the Projects button.

  3. Touch and hold your finger on the project name saved above- a menu will appear.

  4. Select Export project - give the project a name and supply your email address the software is registered with - this is necessary.

  5. Connect the phone into your computer.

  6. Open Music Maker 2015 and select File, Import, Music Maker Jam project.

  7. Click the Search button and browse to the Music folder on the phone - this is the default location project files are exported to - select and import the required .mmmproject file.

  8. NOTE: this may take some time - the soundpool files have to be downloaded to your computer.

  9. Save the project in MMM2015.

You can now edit the project in MMM2015.

johnebaker, that's exactly what i do. The Jam team confirmed the new format wasn't yet supported in MMM and that's why the imports stopped working - I'm on Windows 10. I'm still waiting for a fix

 MMM says:

1) I'm not connected to the internet (this was an error that used to be associated with exporting from MMJ with no email address, but that's not true in this case)

2) it starts the inport, but gets stuck immediately at 50% trying to install the soundpools (already installed)

3) it says soundpool "" cannot be found repeatedly

4) it imports some of the tracks, but not all, loses all the pitch information (so a A-C-C-E rhythm for example just becomes CCCC) and splices the wavs into one beat segments.

depending on whether I exported the projects from MMJ before or after the MMJ update - the move to Windows 10 seems to have made things worse, so you could be right, could be corrupt windows installation.

SFC has found some corrupt files, so I'll try rebooting the pc, see if that fixes everything. If not, I'll have to figure out how to do a clean install of windows 10 when it was a free upgrade from windows 8.1
