Hi,

Please doublecheck the format you're choosing when it comes to the disc-authoring part of the program. Make sure that you pick one of the actual motion video formats, like a standard video DVD for the TV. You will only get all the special effects, transitions, background music and so on if you encode the slideshow to motion video this way. There are other options that will not produce the desired result and basically just dump the slideshow as image files to a disc. I assume you accidentally picked one of those.
