Hi

It would appear that there have been several problems with this drive in HP/Compaq laptops - how old is yours ?

Have you successfully burned a disc before from ACL 17 on this computer ?

Have you updated the Burn routines to the latest available here ?

What make and type of disc are you using CD-R, CD-RW or what ?

Can you copy files to a CD and read discs using Windows Explorer ?

John

Thankyou for your answer, all my disc functions work with other programs. I have spoken to my local computer guy and he has shown that my CPU is running at over 50% all the time. This means that the system is unable to cope with the extra load that burning a disc with MAGIX places upon it. He suggests that I clean my system totally and start afresh without all the bits of old registry and the like that slows a computer down. So watch this space!
