What's causing this unwanted result?

terrypin wrote on 10/13/2012, 9:44 AM

Maybe I've missed the obvious but I don't understand why changing the length of objects in one track is also changing objects in other tracks.

Or better quality:

That was 2013. Same in 17 and MX.. I can change lengths by dragging, without that affecting otehr objects. Anyone able to reproduce or explain please?

No Terry it works like this:

Apply to all objects means it applies to all objects - not just selected ones.

To do what you want to do - select (highlight) the 4 clips then go to the effect you want to change and changing it will affect all selected or in your case go to "change length of photo" and change the length > OK > then a prompt will ask you if you want to "change all selected". Voila!

Peter

Sorry just realised what you mean and did not see the effect because I had the objects on track 2, 3 and 4 below each other. It seems the second object drags the second object in track above with it. This dragging effect seems to be a bit random as well if you have 3 objects staggered in the 2 or 3 tracks below - one drags but not the other. Grouping the objects in the lower tracks creates a different effect with objects being dragged or not dragged.

Must be a bug.

Hi Terry

It is definitely an unusual behaviour!!  I would, in this case, call it a bug
