What Midi Devices Work with Music Maker

I'm back again with more questions.

Also the title is incomplete so here's my full question: What Midi Devices Work with Music Maker, Samplitude, and Sound Forge?

The versions of the programs listed about are: Magic Music Maker Premium 2018, Samplitude Music Studio 2017, and Sound Forge Audio Studio 10.

Next, I really don't know if all of these are able to have a Midi device connected to the program at all but I know Music Maker can and that is my main concern.

I have looked around as usual and I've seen some Midi devices that are compatible with Music Maker but those were listed for an older version. I've even looked in my program's "help section" but I haven't really gotten a clear answer either. I have noticed that mostly keyboards seem to be the only thing compatible but I can't remember which ones or types work with Music Maker.

I, personally, do not want a keyboard because I find it difficult to play on. I'm really hoping that there's Midi pads that are compatible with Music Maker.

Something like the image below.

Or like a not as expensive version of that.

It just has to be pads and no keys. Or mainly pads with a little bit of keys.

So what Midi device should I get for Magix Maker Premium 2018? And will I be able to get a pad Midi device?

The advantage of MIDI is that it's a really broad and simple standard, so almost any MIDI device will work with Music Maker Premium or Samplitude Music Studio. Sound Forge probably isn't going to be very MIDI friendly, as it's a wave editor, not a music editor.

The one thing I'd try to make sure of when purchasing a midi pad or keyboard is that it uses a USB cable for it's MIDI connection. There's an older 5-pin standard that's still used but is much more complicated to get working if you aren't already set up for it. For USB devices, you should just be able to plug them in, maybe install a driver or tool software, then Music Maker or Music Studio should see it.

That's true for Midi devices. However, Music Maker is such a backwards program that I'm afraid to waste even more money by buying a Midi device that the program will not be compatible with .
