Hello my friends, I have a PC HP Pavilion, with a Intel i5 inside, my software is Windows 8.1, and I would like to improve my audio sound card because I want to have RCA jack in order to record directly from my keyboard or any external device to the computer, I'm currently using the USB port from the PC, but I don't like this to much, because it generates a peculiar noise, can any of you guys recommend an audio sound card with RCA inputs.

Is this a good one ????

Audio cards go from $20 to $250 and more...most are advertised for Xtreme Gamers.  There are some reviews written up in vaarious Electronic Music magazines you could read up on.  there is no was to try before you buy.  Last time i asked, Maagaix didn't offer up any recomendations.  If possibe, make sure you and it can handle Surround sound or 5.1 or 7.1....whatever you are running or intending to run.....sound and all its nuances are like beauty...its in the eye/ear of the beholder.  Goodd luck

Hi,

I can understand wanting a better audio card, but it may not solve your problems. You say that there is a peculiar noise when you record to the computer through a USB port. How are you doing this recording? To midi or using audio in through an interface? If midi, then there would be no sound coming into your computer, only the midi data. If audio, then why are you not using your keyboard as a midi instrument?

From the image, I can't tell what the audio card is. What is it and can you give us a link to the manufacturer's website?

I too have an HP with a Realtek audio card. The inputs and outputs are mini-jacks, not phono. They work fine, but could be better.

For audio input, I get the best sound through my M-Track M-Audio interface. Connecting a mic to my audio card gives me a hum or static, whereas the M-Audio, which goes through a USB port, gives me a very clear recording. Plus, I can monitor the input (the mic) using the interface, whereas the audio card does not permit this since it is not ASIO compatible. In other words the audio card can be used for recording but not recording and monitoring at the same time, unless it is ASIO compatible.

For my keyboard, I use it for midi only and use the instruments in MMM. The midi interface is actually a USB connection from the keyboard to the computer. It works fine. I have not tried using an audio connection as I see no point. There are plenty of instruments in MMM and I have better control.

The card in the image is an Asus, right?
