I've not had a problem with the very limited experience of .wma files in Magix Video Pro X. I was testing 5.1 surround functions using a free download of a piece called 'diatonis_currents'. Issues with reading different file formats boils down to what 'codecs' are installed on your machine. There has been a lengthy discussion about these on a recent thread -- http://www.magix.info/us/mp4-video-playing-slow-in-preview-and-final-production..knowledge.757517.html Note particularly the contribution by johnebaker with examples of the codec information available using a free utility called GSpot. He's better with audio questions and can probably help more if you post your codec findings.
Can you play the file using Windows Media Player? If it can't do it perhaps the file is corrupted?
Regards,
Carl
Added: Got MEP17+ going on my other machine and could load the .wma file there as well.
Open one of the wma files with GSpot and post the results so we can see what is there.
What is the source of the wma file?
Also can you put up a short 6 - 10 second clip of one of the wma files which is causing the problem on one of the free sharing sites and post the link to it so we can have a look at it.
Thanks to both of you for your answers. I went to a secondary Desktop where I have MEP17 loaded and was able to import a wma file without any problem so perhaps my wma files on my primary PC are corrupted. I'm going to delete and re-add the CD to see if this fixes the problem.
