So, I first learned how to make my own music using Music Maker Jam. Is it possible to obtain a license for that music from Magix or do I have to learn a new DAW and get license through that company?
If you have got into making music with loops don't let that put you off.
There are plenty of DAWs out there capable of doing the same (but not smartphone based) and do not incur fees for commercial use and plenty of companies that provide loops free of royalty fees and are able to be used for commercial use with no additional fees to pay such as those found at functionloops.com but there are still terms and conditions to adhere to, so do always look at the terms and conditions of any loop content packs you buy.
These free to download apps always make their money by charging extra fees to use their content publicly. I suggest it is always better to buy a product that allows you use of their software for commercial use first if that is possible, preferably one that starts you off with a large free to use loop content library to begin with.
There are many good DAWs out there including free ones but for this you need a DAW that is capable of automatically pitch and beat matching your sample loops as well as able to mix file types and sample rates/bit depths together. Also some loops are better crafted than others and can cause clicks in the audio track where they start or stop so ideally the DAW should have a means to deal with that.
If you are doing this in the hope of selling your compositions, good luck with that as you will be competing with the other 15,000 daily uploaded compositions to various music hosting sites.
I use such a DAW to make my own backing tracks for my videos and avoid copyright strikes on YouTube.
Good luck whatever you decide. If you need specific recommendations reply here and I will use the sites personal messaging system to give you a reply.
