I have been tinkering around for a few years on a low cost alternative for sound isolation. I have discovered that thick wool army blankets are pretty effective for deadening an area. I was just wondering if anyone else had any ideas for making a quiet spot.
You have a good solution there already. My suggestion is similar.
Hang wood rods for the blankets (or sleeping bags in my case) in the shape of the desired area you want to isolate. I use a 90 deg. shape in the corner of my studio. Now hang a second set of rods in the same shape allowing about six inches of air space from the first. Now you have basically two blanket walls with a 6 inch air space between. Any sound wavs that penetrate the first wall get trapped in the space.
This is a remarkably good but ugly solution, Justin
