Weird GUI offset bug in SpectraLayers 4

noou wrote on 4/5/2018, 5:15 PM

I use version 4.0.85 on Windows 7 SP1 x64 and found that GUI controls have a "vertical offset" response to the mouse pointer: for instance to change the FFT resolution slider, I have to point the mouse about 1 cm below the actual slider, even lower than the Time window type menu...
I tested various display resolution settings and they all give the same result (native 1920 x 1080).

Do you have the same problem with SpectraLayers 5.0.130 ? Free trial available here: https://www.magix.com/int/music/spectralayers/

I'd rather not test v5, as I just got v4 as part of Samplitude Pro X3 Suite!
Anyway, I found that when using the classic theme (no frills) in Windows 7 everything works fine, while using the default theme brings the offset issue. There must be some incompatibility with the graphical libraries used in SpectraLayers 4. No other software that I own has this problem!

(BTW, which is the latest version of SL4? The downloader installed 4.0.85 but I saw another post mentioning 4.0.87)

As opposed to other audio applications, SL4 uses OpenGL rendering; maybe upgrading your graphic drivers could solve the problem.

The latest is 4.0.87, can be downloaded from here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B35iTvzHXQzWN1lfb2Z2ZXJ4UTA

Thank you, I'll try with updated graphic drivers. However several recent plugins use OpenGL and they all work fine.
I forgot to mention that when switching between the classic (no frills) theme and the default Win7 theme, the top application bar of SL4 is visibly shrunk vertically.
