VST Troubles in Acid Pro 10

JonahH wrote on 10/14/2021, 11:55 AM

I use Acid Pro 10 version 10.0.5 build 38 64-bit with an Akai MPK mini (the newest model) MIDI keyboard controller. I use Windows 10. I have installed Air Music Tech's full AIR Instrument Expansion Pack 3 Complete as well onto my computer. Even after following the instructions in the Acid Pro manual regarding Plug-In Manager/VST Configuration/Scanning and such, I cannot for the life of me get these VSTs/FX/etc. to show up in Acid Pro 10's list of Plug-Ins and VSTs! I am extremely frustrated by this, and there aren't really any updated/recent videos to show how to do this at all, let alone with the current Acid Pro 10 (only Acid Pro 7/8 videos seem to be online). I just want to make music and use my new equipment/VST purchases smoothly. Please help!

You should let ACID know where you've installed your VSTs.

e.g. I have 2 old 32bit VSTs and one free 64bit VST, I set the location of these VSTs and let ACID scan.

After that I can use them like the other VSTs.

The problem is that I have done that with the folders where the VST plug-ins are installed, but I'm not sure how to get it to work still, even after scanning it and such. I have it in C:\Program Files (x86)\AIR Music Technology\. Within the AIR Music Technology folder there are all the VSTs that I just purchased.

Reinstall it again and look careflly where or which folders its VST/VST2/VST3 plugin files are going to.

Not the program folder.

Thank you! It turns out you were right: my files were installed in the wrong folders. I didn't reinstall them, but I went and dragged them all to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg/Vstplugins\ folder. Then I rescanned, and everything works now! :) User error on my part. Glad you responded so quickly.
