An update has been issued - not a bug patch, unfortunately and I presume that the bugs on the list (see below) still exist.

Important changes in version 17.0.2.54

8k real-time playback of HEVC with NVIDIA GeForce 1060 and higher
8k UHD2 project templates and export presets for HEVC HDR preview
Color space handling
Import custom effects lookup tables
New menu for selecting transitions in the arranger
More modern Color picker in the text editor
Templates: Layer masks
Improved performance for the OFX interface
In-App Store: Individual content purchase is now available

Here is the change to the transition menu available by clicking on the transition icon at the head of an object on the timeline:

Sorry Magix, but this was not really needed and just adds a bug to the list. The previous version had no German text, more on the menu, and there is now a lag between clicking on the icon and when the menu appears.

The new Color Picker in the Text Editor is welcome and can be used to get the RGB (in %) of colours.

Template: Layer masks - is right at the bottom of Image Objects. There are now 94 masks, up from 60. Good addition.

No idea about improved performance of the OFX interface. Anyone?

However, once again, Magix has made things worse. Example: HitFilm Zoom Blur now turns the screen black and I have to change to Compatibility Mode in the Program Settings, and typing numbers into the XY box does not stick. The default is 1920 and 1080 and the only way to change the values is to use the mousewheel. Holding down Ctrl or Alt causes a freeze for several seconds. I tried several HitFilm Effects. However, typing into one of the other boxes seems to unlock the problem and then one can type into the X and Y boxes, press enter, and the value stays. But, keyframing X and Y still causes X to go to infinity.

The actual version 17.0.3.55 and this shows up in the news.

Is there any way to change the subject of this post to the correct patch number?

Yes we do - but it is a hard way.

For 10 years some guys have a meeting nearby Berlin

and since a few years there are some people of the Magix Company (but they are private)

There we spend some Hours to tell them what is important and they tell us how fare they are on there way….

I noticed that as well. It could be that you need a 10bit monitor to enable working in a higher than 8bit color space?

I have 10-bit Eizo and a suitable graphics card.
But the project settings should be independent of the monitor display mode.

Not all codecs can use extended bit depth and colour sampling due to their high compression. It may be available only with HEVC and the professional codecs, Intermediate, AVC Intra, etc.

Maybe, especially as they have listed it as a new feature as in your initial post. Does the help or manual give any detail?

Does anyone have some 10bit 4.2.2 material to import into a new project and then see if it a appears after the prompt to set the movie settings to the imported material?

I see the same, nothing in Audio (except one offered download of "Sound Effects vol 2") and "3D view" on the program screen, right-click, is greyed out.

Right click Program monitor or hamburger icon - all 3D options are there for me - version 17.0.3.55.

Try resetting VPX - this will lose any custom settings you have.

I had to do this after the update, other settings were not behaving properly eg Display Output could not be turned off and Video mode GPU could not be changed and VPX appeared to hang for several minutes, I originally thought this was a result of a crash with specific NB effects, however it may be a bug.

It bothers me especially for 3D corrections. I can not see the result.
Thank you for your intervention and if you have a 3D clip, can you be kind enough to confirm.It is true that few people work in 3D.

Audio tab

I opened the audio tab on my non-updated laptop and missed capturing the screen showing what I had. The screen started changing all by itself and ended with this:

Something also happened under the Templates tab and much of the stuff that I had before is now asking to download it:

So far, this update with no bug fixes has only added to the bug list. It looks like a disaster.

Confirmed, additionally when I change the Program monitor mode the monitor freezes and scrubbing/playing timeline only displays a static image ie what was being displayed at the time of change.

Audio tab - mine is empty.

Templates tab - all appears to be there and displayed correctly - nothing to download.
