voice recording is not working

pt00299 wrote on 8/23/2014, 12:48 PM

I think I understand the instructions as per the tutorial to record a voice on a track in Music Maker.  There is a selection to the left of the track that you click to designate the track as a recording, then you clidk the red control button.  I do that and sing while the time line is moving left to right, but then when I replay, no voice is recorded.

I have no idea how to trouble shoot this.

I'm using windows7 Pro (64 bit). The PC has 8 gig of RAM.

NOTE:  I know my mike is working because there is a facility called Suond Recorder that I am able to record my voice on successfully.

Hi,

How is your mic connected to the computer? USB or mic input on computer?

Click on the button to the right of the red record button to see the recording parameters. Make sure that the mic input is the indicated at the top.

HI

When you set a track to Audio record (arrowed in image below) are you getting the dialog as well?

NOTE:is the person who created the original question.  I wanted to respond directly to both of the answers provided thus far, rather than create a new answer, but it wasn't obvious how to do that, so maybe someone can help me with that as well.

First, thanks to both of you for attempting to help.  This is very frustrating.  I'm very eager to use this software.  It looks exactly like what I want.  But I've still had no luck yet recording a voice..

First, to John - no I am not getting the dialog box when I click the Audio record button.

Then to John C.B. -  I followed your instructions, clicked on the button next to the read recording button and a box opened up entitle "Audio Recording".  I assume that is the vox you referred to in your answer, but I see nothign in that box that indicates the type of connection for the mic.  I'm thinking you may be referring to the Audio Line In drop down box, but there is only one selection for that "Magix Low Latency 2011 (1+2)".  I could be wrong, but from what I've read that should be OK.  Nothing else in that box, including advanced options, seemed to be related to mic settings or connection type.

You did ok by answering as you did with the answer button.

I repeat my first question: How is your mic connected to the computer? USB or mic input on computer?

It is important to know this to set up the driver.

For John C.B. the mic is connected via USB
