Voice over or sample removal?

Hey all

Just wondering if anyone has any insight into this as i am a long time video game musician from the 8 bit & 16 bit era and am looking to restore my original recordings, do bear in mind most were in mono and in formats that no longer exist so i may have to completely re record all those tracks so it would be far easier for me to be able just to be able to remove sound samples and voiceovers and just record those again while having my original music tracks in tact.

I was looking at Audio Cleaning Lab but couldn't find out if i could do that within that program, i am a long time user of Magix and this is an important area for me as it would be ideal to create instrumental versions of those old tracks in the field that i work and also very time consuming as well so wanted something i could use to do the work fairly quickly, sorry for the long post as well.

Hi Dean,

No, you will not be able to remove a voiceover using ACL or the new AML2014 Premium, unless what you want to remove is on a separate stereo channel of the track. This question has been answered several times for those who want to remove singing from a song to have a karaoke type instrumental left behind.

AML can remove some unwanted noise, like clicks and pops, door slamming, etc. without too much impact on good part using spectral cleaning. It can remove a constant hum but not something like a voice that would cover a fairly wide frequency range.

I am going to attempt to remove one bad piano note without messing up the singing, but I will probably not like the result.

Sorry I can't help.

Hey thanks for that John and taking the time to reply, yeah the noise removal etc will still be of benefit to me but does mean lots of extra work for me but just putting it out there really and good luck with your bum piano notes.

Hi Dean,

FYI, I usually post under the Forum tab and you may find some useful information there. Here is my posting about AML2014 PREMIUM. I will be updating it today as I have received replies from Magix.

It would be good to hear how you make out with your project.
