"Vita solo instruments" library won't activate since windows 10 upgrade?? Help!

Roxall wrote on 8/6/2015, 7:34 AM

I updated my windows 7 to windows 10 and then went to load my songs, And now the "vita solo instruments"  are missing from the library, The program tells me that an "initial activation is neccessary". Then when I follow the prompts to search online for it, the program said an error occurred with the online connection error code -17.

What is going on?

The songs are now missing these instruments. Even though the "vita solo instruments" is still in the library, the program thinks it not there? It keeps saying the "library  is not activated" when I go to these instruments.

The only thing I can think of is the window 10 upgrade has corrupted the program.

Please help???

Hi

What version of Music Maker are you using?

Try re-installing the software selecting the Repair option if offered.

I have the exact same issue. I can say that uninstalling/reinstalling results in the exact same issue. There is no change. I have repaired the solo instruments 3 times to no avail. I know this isn't an anwer, but perhaps it will show there is an issue here somewhere.

Also, I am using Magix Music Maker 2014.

Edit 2:

Messing around I may have found it. I right clicked on Magic Music Maker's icon on the desktop, and went to compatibility. It had already checked itself to use compatability mode for Windows 8, so I thought... "Why not?" and unchecked it. I start the program and suddenly - no problem loading old songs, and I can edit my instruments. Hope this helps!

Hi

Another member has reported a similar issue with activation - they fixed it by locating the programs .exe file, right clicking it and selecting Run as administrator then completing the activation.

The file you want is MusicMaker.exe and is located in the folder

         C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\Music Maker 2014 Premium

Note the red highlighted portion will depend on your version.

I also posted this problem and recently my pc was upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. I had one responce who stated that if I had magix installed before the windows 10 update, then the register has been corrupted. They suggested I uninstall and reinstall. I did that but nothing fixed it.

I even did as clean an unstall can get and still had the same issue. I am running MMM2015 premium.

Other issues I found after updating to Windows 10. I notice the graph in the tracks do not sync. IN other words, the graph shows the music has stopped yet, music is still playing. (See pic Below)

Happend to me too, quite disapointing as I just upgraded to Win10 and got an Akai Pro Max 49 for christmas. Was looking forward to using it as a midi controller for recording.  The new instruments in LIve 2016 work great, it's just the legacy instruments.

I will try compatability and also run Magix MM as administrator and see if there is any difference.

Hi

This is a common problem when upgrading to Windows 10.

Reinstall the program following this procedure.
