Vita corrupted. Samplitude won't allow re-download to reinstall

John-Lewis1464 wrote on 10/13/2024, 2:55 AM

Windows 11 Samplitude pro X8

I ttried to use a Vita synth and found a warning saying various compnents were "not found" or missing.

I went to Samp. help and the download instruments section. But when I try to tick the box to download vita to reisntall, it won't work (effectively greyed out and won't turn blue with a tick).

HELP. I NEED one of the synths desperately.

@John-Lewis1464 Go to Windows Apps and uninstall Magix Content and Soundpools. Select your corrupted Vita Instrument and uninstall them. Next, redownload them via Samplitude.

By the way, which instrument doesn't work? There are some instruments that only work in X4 or X5, I don't remember exactly, for example the Vintage Brass or Sansula. To use them in X8 you need to buy them in the Music Maker in-app-store.

@SP. I was trying to use World flutes, and I tried Analog Synths and one of the drum kits. Tried your suggestion. It failed. I still can't download or install ANY of the Vita stuff. If I tick the "Demo projects" button, the Vita 2 and Vita 2 add-on content button light up, but I get so far and then warned that it cannot reach a directory address on my C drive. Neither the directory or the file it is looking for there exist.

I'll have to do without., I've spent a whole morning trying to sort it out. NOT impressed, and that's the first time I've said that in 19 years of using Samplitude.

@John-Lewis1464

Tried your suggestion. It failed.

What exactly happened? Did you uninstall Magix Content and Soundpools and select the Vita Instruments? It's possible that some instruments could have their own uninstallers. So you need to find them in the list of programs to uninstall.

@SP. Yes, I uninstalled the Magix Content and Soundpools. I checked, and there were no uninstallers for any Vita instruments. I also cleared the registry of any mentions of the Vita stuff.
Then I tried to download, and the situation hadn't changed at all—except for a bizarre thing. The downloader with the checkboxes now says the instruments are installed (they aren't), and they were installed TODAY.

My suspcion is that the whole set up has been corrupted and that the only way to get back to a proper install, I'd have to uninstall and reinstall the whol Pro x8 suite. Which I'm not prepared to do. VERY disapppointing but hey ho. I have found third party plug in to do what I need.

Hi,

You say that you have Samplitude pro X8 - non-Suite. Is that correct?

If so, the Vita World Flutes does not come with it. See the comparison table under Vita Instruments.

If it shows up in Samplitude Pro X8 but doesn't work, it would be because you may have gotten it with a previous version of Suite. A more recent non-Suite version will not be able to use it.

Is that your case?

Under Help, open Download Install instruments and sound. Scroll down to where you see World Flutes. Does it say that it's already installed? If so, check the date. Same as your X8 installation or earlier?

Hi,

Ok. Everything works fine here with X8 Suite, so it's hard to help, not having had the problem.

You may want to post on the Samplitude Forum as most other users are there and someone may already have had the same problem.

@John-Lewis1464 Please try to open the folder C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\Documents\Magix Downloads\Installationsmanager\

Maybe the installers for the Vita instruments are still there.

@browj2 I thought this WAS the Samplitude forum. @SP. Yep, looked there before I posted. Not there.
Thanks for your help guys: I had never wanted to use Vita before this incident and I have lived without it for 19 years so it's no big miss, just very annoying for me who has OCD tendencies.
Thanks anyway.

@John-Lewis1464 I'm pretty sure you can ask proservice@magix.net for a download link of the Vita installers.

John-Lewis1464 wrote on 10/14/2024, 3:36 AM

@SP. I probably could, but the problem is that the Vita 2 plug in won't install (and I have that installer) because it is missing a file . I actually have that file in the right location (the location where the installer is looking for it), but it still refuses to install. I don't have the time or desire to go on, but thanks anyway. I'll email them with the whole sorry tale and see what they say.

@John-Lewis1464 What is the exact error message?

Are you taking about the error message that samples cannot be found after loading the instrument? This is caused by the copy protection. If the instrument isn't unlocked correctly it cannot load the samples, you'll then see this error message.

The instrument will definitely check the Windows registry for certain values. Since you deleted them, it's likely it will no longer work correctly.

@John-Lewis1464 Maybe it's a problem with your firewall? Have you tried to disable it or disable controlled folder access?
